FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Answer: While the Titan harp is lighter than some larger models, it still benefits from a transport cover with wheels. These wheels make it easier to move indoors and on sidewalks, though they’re not designed for rough terrain like grass.
The wheels on the transport cover are small, so we recommend a dolly for longer distance movements or transport over rough terrain. The 6-wheel dolly makes going up stairs a breeze.

-
Answer: Both the Lyon and Healy Ogden and the Salvi Titan are high-quality harps, but they cater to different preferences.
The Ogden has 34 high-tension primarily gut strings. The Titan has 38 lower-tension bio-carbon strings. The Ogden therefore is sometimes called a pre-pedal harp as its tensions and string spacing is similar to pedal harp.
The Titan’s large size, lower tension and bio-carbon strings combines to make a formidable sound that projects yet can be played in a spritely and joyful fashion.
The Ogden is known for its rich, resonant sound and is typically well-suited for both intermediate and advanced players.
Ultimately, the choice depends on personal preference and playing style.

Answer: Yes, the gut strings option is available at an additional cost. The gut / bio-carbon option is less frequently ordered and often requires a longer lead time than the all bio-carbon version.
Gut strings offer a warmer and more complex tone and is more similar to a traditional Grand floor-harp. They are however more temperamental: They break more frequently and are harder to keep in tune.
