James Banicki was a graduate of the Chicago Violin Makers School. He went on to work in the restoration of important instruments at Kenneth Warren and Son. His attraction to the work of Guarneri del Gesu can be seen in this violin. The violin was owned by a semi-professional player and is well broken in. It has a beautiful rich tone with harmonics and overtones particularly at the low end. It is a beautiful instrument for Bach and chamber music. It responds easily and rings well. We recommend this violin for an advanced-level amateur player or semi-professional player looking for a rich, responsive instrument.
