This instrument is one of a new line of early to intermediate student violins produced in Germany by the GEWA workshop. The dark brown finish has many customers convinced the violin was built in the 1800s!  It has a big, open, ringing tone that makes it easy to identify the pitch and works well for old-time and New England fiddle literature.
