Nestled in amongst the lochs of the Scotish Highlands is the small harp workshop of Startfish Designs which has been designing and hand-buidling lever harps since 1987.  The Starfish team makes a range of harps of professional merit using woods sustainably sourced.   Although they call this their "student" model, the name is misleading as anyone could find a lifetime of enjoyment playing this fine instrument, rich in uplifting tone -- you'll have vision of the Ben Nevis mountain that towers near their workshop as  you play this exceptional Celtic instrument.  With 34 strings, including lever-tensioned gut, and cherry wood this instrument is tonally excellent, visually beautiful and has been perfectly maintained over the years...there is nary a scratch on her!  Purchased in 1990, this instrument does have a little age which has contributed to the exceptional patina of the cherrywood.   New these harps run about $4100; this harp is offered at $1995.
