From the Eastman Strings collection of fine instruments, the 095 is a hybrid bass offering the tonality of a carved bass with the structural strength of the laminate. The top plate, which defines the rich deep tone, is of fine carved Spruce. The back and ribs are laminated Maple. Like a fully carved bass, the purfling on the top plate is hand-inlaid. The hand-applied spirit varnish adds a visual warmth that complements the tone perfectly!  This is a perfect bass for a developing player needed a more complex tone than a fully laminated instrument can provide, or the touring musician that needs a bass able to stand up to the hazards of road travel, but also able to deliver the tone needed for a stage performance. The tuning gears are rubner Brass tuning machines.  Th Quenoil shape, with well sloped upper bout, is very easy to play for petite musicians and makes it easy to reach down into the lower positions. Made in China. This bass normally runs $6679 but it is priced to sell at $2900.   Please allow 2-3 weeks to ship as a crate may be needed to procure.  $595 freight.
