The Special Edition Fullsicle™ Harp takes the Harpsicle® Line to the next level by adding the richness of solid cherry or walnut wood. The SE retains all of the attributes of the Fullsicle™ Harp, including full Rees levers, and adds both upgraded wood and, in the lowest octave, wrapped strings for improved feel and voice. This is a wonderful, professional, quality harp in a small, light form factor that can travel virtually anywhere right along with you. Available in your choice of walnut (dark brown) or cherry (reddish brown). Cherry is especially interesting in that when your harp is young the wood will be the reddish honey color shown below and as your harp ages the color of the cherry deepens into a rich red with golden highlights. All Special Editions come with full Rees Levers installed, upgraded bass strings installed, a string chart and a tuning wrench.
NOW SELECT A BAG!
Please Note: Harp bags are available as add-on purchases only, when you buy a harp. We do not ship harp bags as standalone orders.
Well padded and tough enough to protect your Harpsicle® Harp from the rigors of any traveling situation. Fits the following harp models: Harpsicle®, Sharpsicle™, Flatsicle™, Fullsicle™, and Special Edition Fullsicle™ Harps. The bag has carrying handles and shoulder strap. It has a front pocket for your chromatic tuner and other small accessories. There is a special, custom pocket along the top (harmonic arch edge) especially made to accommodate a Harpsicle® Harp Stick.
Note: This bag does not fit the grand harpsicle.
AND NOW, SELECT THE PROPER STAND!
Stands are important to elevate the harp to a comfortable height and to keep the harp stable while you are playing. There are quite a few approaches to this.
Strap your harp on to play sitting, standing or moving. This black strap is made of durable, fade resistant nylon.
The Harpsicle® Harp Stick makes it more comfortable to hold your Harpsicle® Harp on your lap while playing. The Stick is solid wood and is quick and easy to install and to remove.
As with all lap harps, some folks find it difficult to keep them balanced in their laps. The Harpsicle® Harp Stick, Strap, and Adjustable Stand are all accessories that make holding your harp easy and relaxing. The Harpsicle® Harp Stick easily clamps to the inside of the lower access hole on the back of the harp, adding a horizontal bar that rests across your thighs. It will also work on most other lap harps. Available in natural wood.

More Than It Looks. Seriously.
There is a perception problem with the Harpsicle®, and Vermont Violins' specialists have been navigating it for years. People see the compact body, the range of cheerful colors — pink, purple, blue, red — and they assume they are looking at a toy. Something for a child's playroom. A novelty.
They are wrong. And once they play one, they know it.
The Harpsicle® Harp was designed by luthier William Rees in 2003, and it changed the entry-level harp market permanently. Rees brought violin-making sensibility to its construction — most significantly in the asymmetric soundboard design, where the bass and treble sides are engineered differently to respond to the distinct acoustic demands of each register. That is a feature you find in serious instrument design. It is not something you do in a toy.
The result is a harp that, at approximately 5 pounds, produces a sound that genuinely surprises people. It fills a room. It projects. In the hands of a skilled player, it is unmistakably a musical instrument — not a prop, not a learning tool, but an actual harp with actual range and actual voice.
Vermont Violins was one of the first harp centers in the northeastern United States to carry the Harpsicle® line. Teachers asked us to. Specifically, the most popular harp teachers and the most widely used pedagogical books in our region pointed their students toward the Harpsicle® — and we listened. We have now sold the Harpsicle® to beginners, to adults re-entering the instrument, to harp therapists, to traveling professionals, and to at least one airline pilot who told us he needed something he could study in hotel rooms that would fit alongside his luggage. The Harpsicle® was the answer.
The Harpsicle® Range at Vermont Violins
The Fullsicle™ is Vermont Violins' top recommendation for most buyers. It carries full Rees levers on every string — meaning you can play in any of 8 major keys and their relative minors, opening the entire lever harp repertoire. At 26 strings and 3.5 octaves, it is genuinely versatile. At 6.4 lbs, it is the most portable serious harp we carry.
The Special Edition Fullsicle™ takes the Fullsicle's specification and adds solid cherry or walnut wood construction, plus wrapped strings in the lowest octave for improved bass voice. The acoustic difference is real and immediately audible — richer, warmer, more dimensional. The Special Edition is the Fullsicle for players who want the portability without any acoustic compromise. It also ages beautifully: cherry deepens from honey to rich red-gold over years of playing.
The Grand Harpsicle® is a different instrument entirely — 33 strings, a built-in pickup, and a format that professionals use for performances where they want to move freely with their instrument. It is worn on a strap. It projects without amplification and integrates with a PA system when you need it to. Harp therapists favor it for hospitals and hospice settings; it does not require a separate stand, it travels without logistics, and it plays quietly and intimately in small spaces. Professional harpists use it as a secondary instrument that lets them take their music directly to their audience.
Low Tension. Nylon Strings. Accessible to Everyone.
Every Harpsicle® is low tension and strung with nylon strings — a combination that makes it genuinely easy to play for small hands and adults alike, and that makes the strings durable and forgiving for beginners still developing consistent technique. Low tension also means the sound comes off the strings easily, without requiring the bow force or string pressure that higher-tension instruments demand. The harp responds to a light touch with immediate, full-voiced resonance.
Is the Harpsicle® a Serious Harp?
Yes. This question comes up regularly at Vermont Violins, and the answer is unambiguous. The Harpsicle® is built by the same luthier — William Rees of Rees Harps, Indiana — who makes the Concert Line harps used by professional harpists. It incorporates the same asymmetric soundboard engineering. It is built to factory specifications that Rees holds to the highest possible standards.
What it is not: a conservatory instrument. It will not replace a 36-string wooden lever harp for a player working on advanced repertoire. But within its 26-string, 3.5-octave range, it does everything it promises to do — musically, acoustically, and structurally — and it does it for a decade or more with proper care.
For the beginner, it is the best starter harp at its price. For the therapy harpist, it is the most practical instrument in the category. For the traveling player, it is the only harp that genuinely fits in a suitcase. And for adults who think they might be too old to start the harp — or who are afraid to commit to a large, expensive instrument — the Harpsicle® is the invitation to find out whether this is their instrument, at a price that makes the question answerable.
