Vermont Violins is proud to offer the original Dimitri Musafia Cases for violin and viola. Every Musafia case is unique and custom-made based on your selection from over three dozen available options. Start the ordering process by using our form to request a quotation. After you approve the quote, Musafia will commence building the case. In about 2 to 4 months, your case will be en route to you from Italy! It takes approximately 2 to 4 months to get customized Musafia cases. The prices start at $800.

To measure up to the great names that were then housing violins by the likes of Stradivari and Guarneri, no effort was spared designing the Master Series, first introduced in 1988 and immediately successful.
With multiple structural components in the bottom, each one painstakingly bonded (some with bolted-through steel L-reinforcements), the Master Series is a case of exceptional strength yet weighing less than many traditional cases. The padding follows the shape of the instrument closely to restrain it from excessive movement in case of impact, and ample accessory compartments add utility.
The Master Series is offered in four versions: Classic, Alisea, Exclusive and Aureum. The Master Series Classic has the interior entirely lined in finest velvet plush while the Alisea is weight-optimized and offers the interior lined in luxurious SuperSilk™ velvet. The Exclusive has a coordination of suede-like Royale on the firm surfaces and velvet plush for the padding, and the Aureum is lined in glove-quality Italian leather, velvet plush, and satin.

About:
Dimitri Musafia and his assistants have been making cases for violins and violas in Cremona, Italy, since 1983. Their cases have been made for the instruments of Salvatore Accardo, Isaac Stern, Shlomo Mintz, Sarah Chang, Uto Ughi, the Emperor of Japan, the City of Cremona, the City of Genoa, the concertmasters of most major orchestras, and many other great concert artists.
To have won this trust and recognition in the comparatively short time of over a quarter-century, evidently means that considerable effort has been expended in research, development, and innovations, many of which have often been copied or imitated by others - even including those "once-great" names. The setting of new manufacturing quality and safety standards however cannot be so readily copied.
The "secret" lies in the fact that Dimitri Musafia is an artisan case maker, not a factory. He has a diploma as master violin maker from the Stradivari Institute in Cremona. Exactly like a Cremona violin maker, he is personally involved in each and every case that is created in the workshop, and each one bears his name. So as long as Mr. Musafia will continue his work, these standards will be maintained and musicians will continue to benefit from a quality which, according to many, no longer has rivals.
