Vermont Violins provides the highest quality rental instrument—instruments from the violin family are all we do and we do them well! We understand that at no time in a player’s life do they need a well set-up instrument more than at the very beginning. As a student struggles to learn basic concepts and techniques, a poorly made or set up instrument can result in a student’s frustration and ultimate failure. We invest heavily in our rental instruments: ….they look and sound great and your child will indeed fall in love.

Our instruments are hand-crafted, player’s instruments and are set up for superior performance With six Luthiers (technicians) on staff to service your instrument your child will get started with the finest instrument possible. We use European parts and professional level strings in our set ups and each instrument is set up to exceed national standards for excellence. Every rental now comes with a graphite/fiberglass bow, haired with genuine horsehair – a superior bow for the beginning player. And if your child is surpassing these and needs a professional bow we have beautiful pernambuco wood bows also available for rent.

How do we spend more than anyone else on our instruments and charge the same? Simple: by reducing our billing expenses via debit (or credit) card auto-pay and by rewarding longer-term contracts we can put money others might spend on billing and overheads directly into the quality of our instruments! It’s a formula for success.

In addition, our convenient auto-pay system will save you money: no late fees, no postage.

And while you rent, you are continuing to build equity towards the ultimate purchase of the instrument…either the one you are renting OR any other instrument we own!

And if you are worried that one of our fine instruments will be damaged take advantage of our optional damage waiver. With a small surcharge to your term rent, we will cover the expense of repairing any damage that might occur! Adjustments are of course complementary and included in the base rental.

Service!

With three locations with which to service you, seven day service, a full lutherie (technician) staff, a full selection of sheet music, CD’s and accessories and mail order service you can have the quality of Vermont Violins with remarkable convenience. We’re open seven days a week in West Lebanon New Hampshire and six days a week in Montpelier and Burlington (operating under “the Burlington Violin Shop”) and all shops are fully outfitted with whatever supplies you might need.

Whether you need a new string, an instrument adjustment, a piece of music, or a birthday gift…you’ll find it at all of our locations.

Flexibility!

We have carefully designed our program to offer you the greatest flexibility. We hope you will stop by and select the instrument that best works for you. We have hundreds to choose from in all budgets.

As you progress technically, the time may come to upgrade towards more professional instruments. Many shops offer entry-level instruments but have no place to go when it is time to upgrade. With Vermont Violins, you can move from beginner to intermediate to advanced to professional.. and never lose a penny of your equity as you move from one instrument into another. Intermediate and advanced instruments are also available for rental!

Choices exist even at the most beginner level. We have two classes of entry-level instruments: both handcrafted, both professionally set up. For a small premium, you can upgrade to the concert instrument, or stay with our budget option; either way your child will get off to the best start possible!

When you are ready to purchase your instrument, simply give us a call and we’ll let you know what your buyout is. There is no early-buyout penalty or other disincentives to own. We’ll be delighted to see another child successfully entering the world of serious string playing.

We even have financing plans: set up in-house and extremely low interest. Simple and convenient, you can have low monthly payments and never spend a dime in rent through one of our easy financing plans. These are available for any of our instruments.
